One night a two-year-old child wanders from his house and into the night.
His wandering and curiosity saved him from the man who had come to kill his family in the night.
This baby, rechristened “Nobody Owens” or “Bod” for short begins a new life under the care of the graveyard he stumbled into that fateful night.
Living in the graveyard in the company of the ghosts who are at rest there means that Bod is not strictly of the living, nor of the dead.
There are dangers in the graveyard, but more so in the outside world where the man Jack still waits to kill the boy who got away all those years ago.
I love this book. I love this book so very much. It is clever, spooky, sad.
Deeply dark without being overly scary, Gaiman masterfully crafts this story of loneliness, love, loss, and learning who you are.
