Ollie is waiting.
Gossie and Gertie are waiting for Ollie, their new sibling.
Ollie however is a rather ornery little blighter who refuses to come out of his shell, no matter how many times his siblings ask him to come out and join them.
Until Gossie and Gertie give up and leave Ollie to his own devices, and he decides it is time to hatch.

Ollie’s siblings Gossie and Gertie have boots.
Gossie has red boots, and Gertie has blue boots.
Ollie the gosling has no boots, and boy does Ollie want boots too.
He stomps around after his siblings (and their boots) moodily, until if a fit of emotion he shouts “I want boots too!” Gertie and Gossie each give Ollie a boot, and follow him as he continues to stomp around.
Until, Ollie realizes boots are hot.
I really enjoy this series of books. I am a bit of a sucker for white space, and the ink and watercolour illustrations in all of Dunrea’s books are just wonderful.
