Each Peach Pear Plum – Janet and Allan Ahlberg (1978)

Each Peach Pear Plum was (and still is) one of my favourite picture books.

Written in rhyming couplets the book is a lovely rhyming tale about Nursery Rhyme and Fairy Tale characters, while also being an I Spy book.

My roommate and I had a bonding session the other day where we recited the book from memory.

Our minds in childhood having committed the entire book to memory.

The illustrations are beautiful and in the Ahlbergs’ distinctive style; and as with almost every book by the Ahlberg duo there is a lot for small eyes to pick up.
